“How can love bring me closer to you?” This question is the center of Collective Soles Dance Company’s upcoming performance, "With Love". With choreography by Artistic Director Alex Jones and newly appointed Resident Choreographer Sean McDonald, this dance work investigates love as it appears through empathy, compassion, and acceptance. "With Love", contains a combination of text and dance, audience interaction, and a personal tribute to Pulse Orlando performed by Alex Jones. Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe announces auditions for 2017-2018 season

Location: WBTT Binz Building 1012 N. Orange Ave. Sarasota FL

Actors are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, one comedic and one dramatic, of three minutes or less. Singers are asked to be ready with 16 bars of one song, up-tempo or ballad, and one monologue, comedic or dramatic, of three minutes or less. Callbacks will be the same day; performers auditioning for musicals are asked to bring extra attire that is comfortable for learning choreography. Singers should bring sheet music in the correct key, with the beginning and ending noted for the accompanist. All candidates must bring five copies of their professional headshot with resume either stapled together or printed two-sided; photocopies are acceptable. To secure an audition slot, contact Travis Ray, associate managing director, at (941) 404-7801 or tray@westcoastblacktheatre.org. The deadline to secure an audition slot is Friday, March 24 at 4pm.

Pinellas County will host a public information meeting on Thursday, March 30, from 6 – 8 p.m. about the upcoming Sand Key beach nourishment project. The meeting will be held on the 4th floor of the Indian Shores Town Hall, located at 19305 Gulf Boulevard in Indian Shores. The meeting will provide an overview of the Pinellas County Shore Protection Project, a cost share partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The Civil Rights Movement: Looking Back, Marching Forward Acclaimed civil rights icon John Lewis and co-authors writer Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell will share their journey in telling the story of the civil rights movement through Lewis’ eyes in the award-winning MARCH trilogy of graphic novels. Lewis is the last surviving speaker from the 1963 March on Washington and is now devoting himself to preserving the important lessons of the civil rights movement including nonviolent protest and speaking out against injustice for current and future generations of young people.
