Hear the real-life stories of day workers, the people who hired them, and the relationships that grew up against the backdrop of segregation, discrimination, and racism. Decades of Day Work V features the story of the successful daughter of a maid who taught her the value of work and the necessity of protest; a man’s memory of his mother and the family she worked for, whom he came to consider as his own; and three sisters telling the story of a mother who proved to be much smarter than the people who hired her.
