Former GE CEO Jack Welch accuses Obama administration of cooking unemployment numbers

Oct. 5, 2012 - Republicans caused eyes to roll this election season by perpetuating the meme that poll numbers favoring Barack Obama over Mitt Romney are “skewed” (there’s even a website that recalculates every poll with the partisan weighting of the Republican leaning Rasmussen poll, putting Romney reliably ahead.) Now, there’s a new conspiracy theory out there: that the 7.8 percent unemployment rate reporting on Friday, along with revised jobs data for the prior two months, is a fraud.

The theory is being promoted by none other than Jack Welch, the former CEO of GE. He tweeted this morning: “Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can’t debate so change numbers.” Read more at thegrio.com.
