Hillsborough Commissioners Seek Applications For Citizen Boards
Hillsborough County Commissioners are seeking residents to serve on several County Citizen Advisory Boards and Councils. These are voluntary positions, and members serve without compensation. Learn About Government from the Inside Out
Applications are being accepted for the ninth annual Citizen's Academy, Clearwater 101. This 10 week interactive program is a unique, educational experience for Clearwater residents interested in city affairs. Sessions are led by elected officials, department directors and city staff who share information about the city's operations and key issues facing the city today. Participants must attend at least eight of the ten sessions in order to graduate at a November City Council meeting. The program will be Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m., September 7 to November 9 and is open to all Clearwater residents. Free School Clothes! Donations Needed
It is that time of year. If you or someone you know has gently used school clothes (For kids K-12) that they plan to give away please let me know. We are now accepting donations of new and used clothing and shoes for our annual free school clothes giveaway. We will give away clothes on Saturday August 21, right before school begins. Free Ballet Classes
The Patel Conservatory will offer free ballet classes for students to sample the fall classes on July 10th. Introduction to Ballet, for pre-K3-K, is at 10A, Beginning Ballet, for grades 1-3, is at 11A and Elementary/Intermediate Ballet, for grades 4–12, is at 12:30P. No prior experience is required to participate in the Introduction to Ballet and Beginning Ballet classes. To be eligible for the Elementary/Intermediate master class, taught by Ivonne Lemus, students must have a minimum of two years recent ballet training.
